Union Bottom~Black Business Mecca Guided Walking Tour

What once was the tobacco warehouse district slowly faded and emerged as the black business district. Come and take a walk with me to learn about the tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit that lined North Union Street.

Holbrook-Ross Greenbook Guided Walking Tour

Holbrook-Ross Historic District is on the National Register of Historic Places. Holbrook-Ross was home to African American professionals and the first neighborhood erected for African Americans in the city of Danville. Come walk with me and listen to all the hidden histories and stories of the neighborhood.

Black in the Dayz Community Guided Walking Tours

Historical Marker Tour

Of the 22 Historical Markers in the city of Danville, 8 of them represent African American History & Culture.  Lets travel to these places and explore the history that placed them on the register.

Red Trolley Civil Rights Tour

From $350 (up to 26 people)

Lets explore the Civil Rights Movement as we ride along on the trolley. Come learn about the events leading up to Bloody Monday and the stories of the people. Add on package available that includes a stop at the Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History for a guided tour through the Civil Rights Exhibit titled The Movement. Tour also available without trolley services.

Ancestral Footprints
"Family Reunion Tour"

Walk the same lands as your ancestors while exploring your family history.  This tour was developed for Family Reunions and includes customized tours and genealogy consultations. Learn the stories of your ancestors by visiting the places where they were enslaved, lived, worked, and worshipped. We will also explore the cultural practices and the final resting places of your ancestors. This tour will inspire the future generations to come!

Harvey School House Tour

The Harvey Colored School built in 1880 for the education of black people in the Callahan Hill community, in the Berry Hill Road vicinity. Descendants of the enslaved from the neighboring Hairston, Adams, Wilson, and Perkins plantations settled here. If you would like to know more about these families and tour the schoolhouse that was preserved by former student Annie Wilson Mosby this is the tour for you.

HBCU Historical Tours

Explore the campuses of the most illustrious Historically Black Colleges & Universities in the Middle Eastern region. Packages are based on groups of 20 and can be customized for your group or youth organization. This tour is meant to inspire a new generation of leaders! Welcome to the black college experience!

Have a bus but need a tour guide? I also offer step on guide services to provide your group with a fully narrated and curated tour of the African American landscape in the Dan River Region.
